New EU customs rules come into force on all EU bound deliveries received on or after the 1st July: From this date all orders with a commercial value under €150 (excluding shipping) will be subject to an additional €3 duty per HS code. As all orders are classified as books, this will mean an additional €3 will be added per order.
As part of the supply chain, our carrier will also add an additional 4% deferment fee which will be reflected as part of this.
To take into account the delivery times on orders, this pricing will be reflected within the Bookvault portal from the 22nd of June. You’ll see this as an additional surcharge added to your order.
How will this affect Direct Sales?
For orders from your direct stores bound for the EU, you have two options:
1) Use a tax calculation such as the EAS plugin (https://easproject.com/)
who will help calculate the fees for you.
2) A tick-box will be added to the ‘App Settings’ menu on the ‘Apps’ page of the Bookvault portal. Here you’ll be able to enable the €3 charge being added to orders.
