Getting your next title ready for bookvault and want to make sure your files are just right? Download our custom templates from bookvault to ensure they’re perfect for the specification.
STEP 1
You can download these either from our main website or from the bookvault portal. The first part will show you the process of doing this from the website. If you want to know where to find it from the portal, please skip to step 6. First of all, access our website at www.bookvault.app. From the navigation menu at the top, hover over ‘Help Centre’ and then select ‘Sizing Calculator’.
STEP 2
Once on the spine width & sizing calculator page, you would first input the specification of your book on the left hand side. This will generate the specification for the cover and text, there is also another tab for ‘Design Templates’, click on this.
STEP 3
Once the design templates tab is selected, click on ‘Generate Design Template’. This will start generating the covers, if this is a bespoke size that a template hasn’t been generated before on our system, it will be created then, please allow a few minutes for that to be done.
STEP 4
Our system will then generate a text file template, cover template and also dustjacket if you have selected a case bound book. Click on ‘Download’ against the file you want to download, this will open the file up in a new tab.
STEP 5
You will be presented with the template like the one below, this will indicate the full cover size, spine dimensions, safet margins and more. You can download this cover from the top right.
STEP 6
If you are already logged into your account, there a few different places that you can get your templates from, the first is the ‘Sizing Calculator’ on bookvault. Click on the left hand size on the navigation pane.

This will open up the ‘Sizing Calculator’ within bookvault. You can follow the same steps 2 – 5.
STEP 8
Want to get a template for one of your existing titles? Go to ‘View Your Titles’ from the navigation on the left.
STEP 9
Find the title that you want to get a template for, click ‘More Details’ on that pane.
STEP 10
Once more details for the title has loaded, you will see a button ‘Templates’. 
STEP 11
Once you have clicked on templates, it will start generating the required templates for your book. Text, Cover and Jacket if applicable. Please note that this can take a few minutes if it is a size and spine depth that we haven’t produced before.
STEP 12
Once our system has generated these, you will then be able to click ‘Download’ against the necessary titles. This will open the files up in a new tab.

These will open up in a new tab, and will be able to download them clicking the Download arrow icon in the top right of the page.
